It appears that the lead antagonist in the first season of Jessica Jones is returning for chapter two.
The upcoming second season of the Marvel–Netflix series will find Krysten Ritter reprising her titular role as the booze and face-smashing heroine and, somewhat surprisingly, David Tennant back as the mind-controlling villain Kilgrave.
Check out the on-set image of Ritter and Tennant that been released by EW:
As those that have seen the first season (SPOILERS AHEAD) of Jessica Jones will remember, Kilgrave seemed to meet his end at the last episode. Believing he still had control over Jones, Kilgrave ordered her to say “I love you.” Instead, she snapped his neck.
Details for the second season are being kept firmly under wraps for now, so all we have is speculation as to why Kilgrave is back. Maybe he’ll be featured in flashbacks, since there’s still quite a bit we haven’t seen of that lengthy period Jones was under his control.
Jessica Jones season 2 will be hitting Netflix in 2018, but we don’t have to wait until then to see Jones in action. The heroine will be seen teaming up with Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in The Defenders, which arrives on August 18.
