Joe Carnahan in Talks to Direct Bad Boys 3

Hey, Joe, “whatcha gonna do when they come for you?”

It’s looking like Joe Carnahan, known for his work directing Narc, Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team, and The Grey, may be the man at the helm of the third Bad Boys movie.

Deadline reports that Carnahan is currently in negotiations with Sony Pictures to direct Bad Boys 3, a project the studio wants to have ready for Will Smith to move on once he completes Suicide Squad.

Safe House screenwriter David Guggenheim has penned the draft the studio is working from at the moment.

There’s no word as to whether or not Martin Lawrence is on board or is being chased down, but it’s safe to assume that Sony would want the franchise’s duo to revisit their roles.

Michael Bay directed both Bad Boys and Bad Boys II, the latter of which brought in over $273 million worldwide.
