‘John Wick 3’ Trailer: Keanu Reeves Kicks Ass in the Action Threequel

Lionsgate

Hell. Yes.

Check out the first trailer to arrive for upcoming action threequel John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which brings back Keanu Reeves’ titular ass-kicker in what looks like a winner for action lovers.

The third film in the action franchise continues on where the sequel left us, with Wick on the run after killing a member of assassin’s guild the High Table. With a price tag of $14 million on his head, you can bet that the world’s most ruthless and talented killers will be wanting to cash in. Unluckily for them.

There’s a ton of slick-AF mayhem on display here, including a motorcycle and swords sequence that brings to minds the craziness we saw in South Korean action flick The Villainess. Halle Berry, Anjelica Huston, Wick on horseback, takedowns with dogs; yeah, take our money. The first film was fun, the sequel was fantastic, so here’s hoping the third outing keeps this trajectory going.

John Wick co-director and John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski stays on at the helm here, directing from a screenplay by franchise writer Derek Kolstad.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, also starring Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Saïd Taghmaoui, Jerome Flynn, Jason Mantzoukas, Tobias Segal and Boban Marjanovic, will be arriving in Australia on May 16 and hitting US cinemas on May 17.

Lionsgate’s official synopsis for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum:

In this third installment of the adrenaline-fueled action franchise, super-assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) returns with a $14 million price tag on his head and an army of bounty-hunting killers on his trail. After killing a member of the shadowy international assassin’s guild, the High Table, John Wick is excommunicado, but the world’s most ruthless hit men and women await his every turn.
