‘John Wick: Chapter 3’: Halle Berry and More Joining Keanu Reeves in Action Threequel

The cast of the third John Wick film is expanding.

John Wick: Chapter Two added Laurence Fishburne, Common and Aussie actress Ruby Rose, among others; Chapter 3 is moving forward with two Oscar-winning actress among the new names.

Halle Berry has been cast in Chapter 3, set to play the film’s female lead, Sofia. The actress took to Instagram with the following:

No details of Berry’s character have been revealed, but THR‘s sources claim that Sofia is not a villain.

Also on board the third film in the franchise: Oscar winner Angelica Huston, known for Prizzi’s Honor, The Witches and The Adams Family movies, among other things. Huston will be playing ‘The Director’.

The film’s official Twitter account also announced the casting of Asia Kate Dillon (Orange is the New Black, Billions) as The Adjudicator of the High Table, Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The League) as The Tick Tock Man, and Mark Dacascos (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Brotherhood of the Wolf) as an assassin that goes by Zero…

Along with confirmation that Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and Fishburne will indeed be returning…

John Wick co-director and Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski will continue at the helm of the third chapter, with screenwriter Derek Kolstad back as well.

As per the synopsis released in April, the third film will find Wick (Keanu Reeves) killing his way out of New York City as he is hunted down with a $14 million dollar price tag on his life, the result of killing someone on Continental grounds.

Currently in production, John Wick: Chapter 3 is scheduled to open in US cinemas on May 17, 2019.
