Aussie actress Rose Byrne, Ethan Hawke and Chris O’Dowd lead the Judd Apatow-produced romcom Juliet, Naked.
The first trailer has arrived for the England-set film, starring Byrne as a woman whose life takes a bit of a turn when she meets obscure rocker Tucker Crowe (Hawke), the idol of the man (O’Dowd) she’s been stuck in a relationship with for years.
Jesse Peretz (Our Idiot Brother, Girls, GLOW) directs this adaptation of a novel by Nick Hornby, whose works include High Fidelity, About a Boy and Brooklyn.
It looks charming, and the three leads no doubt have a lot to do with that. You know what you’re getting here, which is hopefully a very likeable romantic comedy with a good screenplay and well drawn characters. Early reviews are a little mixed, so we’ll see.
Juliet, Naked hits US cinemas on August 17.

When the acoustic demo of Tucker’s hit record from 25 years ago surfaces, its release leads to a life-changing encounter with the elusive rocker himself. Based on the novel by Nick Hornby, Juliet, Naked is a comic account of life’s second chances.
