Universal has unleashed the second official trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth, unveiling more footage of the seventh entry in the Jurassic saga. Watch the new trailer above and learn more below.
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the film sees Earth struggling to adapt to a post-dinosaur landscape. The surviving prehistoric creatures now reside in isolated, tropical zones—one of which holds a game-changing secret. Within this biosphere are three colossal dinosaurs, whose DNA could hold the key to a miracle drug with life-saving potential. So, of course, that means they’ll need to get pretty close to these horrifying beasts.

Scarlett Johansson stars as covert ops specialist Zora Bennett, hired by a pharmaceutical conglomerate to lead a team onto the island to retrieve the genetic samples. She’s joined by Mahershala Ali’s Duncan Kincaid, her partner and team leader, and Jonathan Bailey’s Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist whose knowledge may be the group’s best hope for survival. Rounding out the mission team are Rupert Friend and Philippine Velge, along with a group of civilians who’ve been stranded following a run-in with some very aggressive dinos.
The film is directed by Rogue One, Godzilla, and The Creator filmmaker Gareth Edwards, and written by returning Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp. Longtime franchise producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are on board, and Steven Spielberg serves as executive producer via Amblin Entertainment.
It’s been a bit of a bumpy franchise, quality-wise, but there’s no denying the revenue. With six films, the Jurassic movies have raked in over, wait for it… over $US6 BILLION. It’s not a risky bet to make that this new film – another reboot of sorts with a new set of characters following the previous trilogy – will have a healthy return. Let’s hope it’s a good movie as well.
