An antagonist in Justice League has been confirmed, and so has the lead villain in the upcoming standalone Batman movie.
Ben Affleck, who we all know is back playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Zack Snyder-directed picture, hit Twitter with the following…

Fanboys understandably went nuts, and although Affleck didn’t write a single thing with that short video, many thought it was pretty clear that the Justice League footage was showcasing DC villain Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson.
The Wrap has since confirmed that it is indeed Deathstroke, reporting that the character will also be the lead villain in The Batman, the solo Batman movie Affleck is attached to direct.
Deathstroke, created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, first appeared in The New Teen Titans (vol. 1) #2 (1980). The first time the character took on Batman was in the 1991 DC Comics story arc City of Assassins, which saw the Dark Knight get his ass whooped.

Many will also know Deathstroke from his arc in CW’s Arrow. New Zealand actor Manu Bennett played the villain there.
Justice League, which will also feature Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), among many others, is scheduled for U.S. release on November 17, 2017. No official release date has been assigned to The Batman as yet.
We’ll keep you informed.
