The new trailer gives us a look at the state of the world post-Superman. The lack of heroes may be of concern for many, but fear not: Batman (Ben Affleck) has been off gathering himself a superpowered little team. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) join the Dark Knight in a battle against a terrifying new threat, led by the powerful Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds).
It’s colossal stuff. There’s a ton of action on offer below, with jaw-dropping visuals worthy of being framed up on the walls. There’s a nice dose of characterisation too, even if Cyborg again doesn’t get much of a personality to show off. Miller’s Flash could steal the show.
It’ll be interesting to know how the film has evolved since Joss Whedon was handed the director’s chair. It’s been a long road; let’s hope the lengthy path to fruition Justice League has taken means they’ve had the time to iron out any creases that could have been overlooked otherwise.
Justice League, also starring J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and Amber Heard as Mera, among many others, will arrive in Australia on November 16 and hits the U.S. on November 17.
Synopsis for Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
