Kate Winslet is pulling up the director’s chair for the first time with Goodbye June, a new feature film backed by Netflix and Working Title Films. The project, currently in pre-production, will be filmed in the UK.
Winslet will not only direct but also star in the film, and she’s lined up an impressive cast that includes Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren.
The script was written by Joe Anders, Winslet’s son, and tells the story of a group of siblings who are forced to reunite under difficult circumstances. Winslet is also producing the film with Kate Solomon (who recently produced recent Winslet film Lee), with Working Title involved as executive producers.
