A big new trailer has dropped for Kubo and the Two Strings, the fourth film from Laika Entertainment, the company behind Coraline, ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls.
The film tells of Kubo, who must locate a magical suit of armour once worn by his late father, a legendary Samurai warrior, when a spirit from the past re-ignites an age-old vendetta.
While The Boxtrolls wasn’t quite up to Laika’s usual standards, Coraline and ParaNorman were great stop-motion features. Travis Knight, lead animator on all three of those films, takes the helm here, delivering what looks to be another great entry. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, so fingers crossed the screenplay matches up. So far, so damn good.

Kubo and the Two Strings, boasting a voice cast that includes Art Parkinson, Matthew McConaughey, Charlize Theron, Rooney Mara, Ralph Fiennes, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, George Takei, and Brenda Vaccaro, will be released in the U.S. on August 19 and Australia on December 1.
