‘Last Breath’: Tense Trailer Arrives for Woody Harrelson-Starring Survival Film Based on Incredible True Story

A tense first trailer has been released for Last Breath, a survival thriller based on the astonishing true story of a 2012 saturation diving accident. Take a look above and learn more below.

The film recounts the events surrounding diver Chris Lemons, whose umbilical cable was severed during a deep-sea mission, leaving him trapped 100 metres (330 feet) below the surface. With no heat, no light, and only a few minutes of breathing gas, the situation became a desperate race against time. The film stars Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu, Cliff Curtis, and Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders), the latter playing Lemons.

This story was previously chronicled in a gripping 2019 British documentary of the same name, co-directed by Alex Parkinson and Richard da Costa. You can stream the documentary on Netflix – right HERE.

Parkinson, who also directs the narrative adaptation, co-wrote the screenplay with Mitchell LaFortune (Kandahar) and David Brooks. The film is produced by Brooks, Paul Brooks, Hal Sadoff, Norman Golightly, Jeremy Plager, Stewart Le Maréchal, Al Morrow, and Anna Mohr-Pietsch.

Last Breath is set to be released in US cinemas on 28 February and Australian cinemas on 8 May, 2025.

Here’s the trailer for the documentary – a riveting, claustrophobic watch.
