Josh Brolin’s having a pretty big year.
After playing two Marvel characters in Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, and starring opposite Benicio Del Toro in the sequel Sicario: Day of the Soldado, the Oscar-nominated actor will soon be seen alongside Danny McBride in Netflix comedy movie The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter.
Marking the first film in nine years for writer-director Jody Hill (known for The Foot Fist Way, Observe and Report, Eastbound & Down and Vice Principals), The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter tells of Buck Ferguson (Brolin), who decides to take his estranged son (Montana Jordan) on a hunting trip in an effort to reconnect. Also along for the journey is Buck’s friend Don (McBride), who’s also serving as the cameraman.
This one will likely come down to how much of a fan you are of Hill’s dry, peculiar sense of humour, which is clearly stapled across this one. It’s certainly an enticing prospect having Brolin and McBride together in a comedy, so fingers firmly crossed.
We’ll find out what we’re in for just a few days! Yep, The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter, also starring Scoot McNairy and Carrie Coon, will be hitting Netflix on July 6.
