FX series Legion will be finishing its run with season 3.
To be clear, the series hasn’t been cancelled – this is exactly how creator Noah Hawley intended it. FX confirmed that the upcoming season will be the final chapter on Twitter, where they also announced two key cast members. Oh, and if you didn’t know of Legion‘s connection to the X-Men comic book world, well… now you’ll know.
Professor X has been cast…
Noah Hawley is pleased to announce two guest castings for the final year of #LegionFX
Stephanie Corneliussen will play David Haller’s mother, “Gabrielle,” and Harry Lloyd will play his father, “Professor X.”

Harry Lloyd is known for his parts in shows such as Game of Thrones (he played Viserys Targaryen), Manhattan, Marcella and Counterpart. He’ll be taking on a role that’s been inhabited on the big screen by Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender. Stephanie Corneliussen may be best known for Mr. Robot, where she played by Joanna Wellick. She also played Dr. Valentina Vostok / Soviet Firestorm in Legends of Tomorrow.
Legion stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, a schizophrenia-diagnosed young man who discovers he has special powers after a strange encounter. It’s… a trippy show, and it’s one you should really be checking out if you haven’t.
Season 3 will be premiering on FX sometime in June.
