‘The Lego Batman Movie’ Gets a Big Comic-Con Trailer

As you’d expect, there’s been no shortage of great footage from Comic-Con this year.

A new trailer has been released for The Lego Batman Movie, giving us plenty of footage from the upcoming CG-animated spinoff focusing on the Lego version of the Caped Crusader.

Will Arnett returns as the voice of Batman in a film that sees our hero attempting to spend time with his adopted son, Dick Grayson, aka Robin (Michael Cera), while having to go up against his long-time nemesis The Joker (Zach Galifianakis).

Batman was a standout in The Lego Movie, quite the feat considering the overall high quality of that picture, and the spinoff looks equally fantastic. The energy and meta humour put forth in the first film is evident here, and the twists on certain elements from the Batman canon look fun. Bring it on.

The Lego Batman Movie, featuring a voice cast that also includes Ralph Fiennes, Rosario Dawson and Mariah Carey, hits the U.S. on February 10, 2017 and arrives in Australia on March 30, 2017.

Synopsis for The Lego Batman Movie:

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
