A series of oh-so enticing images from Logan have been dropping over the last few days.

The upcoming Wolverine film was given the green light to tackle an R rating in the US (thank you, Deadpool), and the darker elements are certainly felt in these new pics. The most obvious hint of the grit to come is of course thanks to an image of a dismembered arm still holding onto a shotgun.

We also have our first image of the film’s villain, played by Narcos actor Boyd Holbrook. The image comes captioned with “Pierce,” thus revealing that the actor will be playing Marvel Comics supervillain Donald Pierce.

Hugh Jackman’s clawed hero is set to take on one troubled dude. The guy is described as a genocidal mutant hater; furthermore, he’s a self-loathing cyborg who refers to himself as “only half a man.”

Logan, directed by The Wolverine helmer James Mangold, is scheduled for US release on March 3, 2017.
