Mads Mikkelsen has certainly locked himself in as Mr. International. Apart from his deliciously malevolent performance in NBC’s Hannibal, Mikkelsen continues to impress with his film work. In 2012 he was awarded the Cannes Best Actor award for his brilliant work in the masterpiece that is The Hunt, and gave strong performances in A Royal Affair and French-German co-production Age of Uprising: The Legend of Michael Kohlhaas, the latter of which saw him speaking French throughout the film. And how good was his nut-crushing villain in Bond film Casino Royale?
Now, meet Mikkelson the Cowboy. The actor stars as a Danish immigrant trying to start a life with his wife and child in 1870s America, a time not exactly known for being kind. When his family is murdered, Mikkelson’s John goes on a journey of retribution. The trailer impresses, with a lavish visual look and a strong cast. Eva Green is always welcome in our opinion.
Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Michael Raymond-James and Jonathan Pryce.
