Channing Tatum may have received some well-earned points with drama pundits in the heavy-hitting Foxcatcher, but of the many reasons Magic Mike XXL will be bringing in the dough, six are above his waistline.
Three years after the events in Magic Mike, we meet up with Mike (Tatum) and his boys as they make their way to Myrtle Beach for one last show. Stopovers in Jacksonville and Savannah sees “the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past.”
Steven Soderbergh’s first film was a bit of a surprise hit, not only impressing with a worldwide pull of $167 million (on a budget of just $7 million), but actually delivering a decent story and strong performances amidst the gyrating entertainment. We’re expecting more of the same here.
Magic Mike XXL, which has its eye-opening first poster underneath the trailer, also stars Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, Amber Heard, Elizabeth Banks, Jada Pinkett Smith, Donald Glover, Andie MacDowell, and Michael Strahan.
