Hemsworth and Thompson are playing Agent H and Agent M respectively, Emma Thompson will be providing some franchise connectivity by reprising her role as Agent O, Rebecca Ferguson is rumoured to be playing the film’s villain, and Liam Neeson is expected to play the head of the U.K. branch of the agency that protects Earth from alien baddies. Also on board are Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, and Beyonce backup dancers Laurent Nicolas Bourgeois and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois.

Directing the spin-off is F. Gary Gray, who is coming off two box-office hits Straight Outta Compton and Fate of the Furious. Iron Man scribes Matt Holloway and Art Marcum are behind the screenplay.

The movie will have more of a global focus this time around (hence Neeson’s UK agency), which will no doubt provide fuel for a potential franchise revival if things go well. As of now, neither Will Smith or Tommy Lees Jones are expected to return as Agents J and K.

The untitled MiB pic is scheduled to hit US cinemas on 14 June 2019.
