New ‘Mickey 17’ Trailer: Robert Pattinson is Killed and Cloned in Sci-Fi from ‘Parasite’ and ‘Snowpiercer’ Director Bong Joon-ho

A big new trailer has arrived for the Robert Pattinson-starring Mickey 17, a sci-fi black comedy from filmmaker Bong Joon-ho. This marks Bong’s first feature since 2019’s Parasite, the first non-English language film to win the Best Picture Oscar. Take a look at the new trailer above and the new poster below.

An adaptation of Edward Ashton’s 2022 novel (titled Mickey7), the film has Pattinson playing a “disposable worker” sent to colonise an icy planet. He is to handle dangerous, life-threatening tasks—and to be resurrected each time he dies.

Joining Pattinson is an impressive ensemble: Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker), Steven Yeun (Nope), Toni Collette (Hereditary), and Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things). Bong has also brought together a stellar creative team behind the camera, including Oscar-nominated cinematographer Darius Khondji (Bardo), production designer Fiona Crombie (The Favourite), and editor Yang Jinmo (Parasite). The film is produced by Bong alongside Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner (both Oscar winners for Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave).

Mickey 17 looks like another wild ride from the man who also gave us Snowpiercer and The Host. Fingers firmly crossed the filmmaker has another winner in store.

We’ll find out when the film opens in Australian cinemas on 6 March and in US cinemas on 7 March.
