Netflix has released a new trailer for Mindhunter season 2, giving us a better look at what the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit will be in for in the second chapter.
As the trailer shows, Agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) & Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) and psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) have a new unit leader that assigns them to help with the investigation of the Atlanta child murders (which took place 1979–81). The case attracts wide media attention and places a spotlight on the Ku Klux Klan, which causes friction for the increasingly troubled Ford, who doesn’t believe the killer is racially motivated. There’s also the inclusion of Charles Manson, played by Aussie actor Damon Herriman, who interestingly also plays the cult leader in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
It’s far from feel-good viewing, but Mindhunter is most definitely worth watching if you still haven’t. We can’t wait for season 2, which hits Netflix on August 16.
