“How do we get ahead of crazy, if we don’t know how crazy thinks?”

Take a look at the first official trailer for Mindhunter, the upcoming Netflix thriller-drama series boasting David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, The Social Network) as executive producer and director.

Based on Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, the ’96 book by John Douglas and Mark Olshanker that told of Douglas’ 25-year career investigating horrific crimes, the series follows two FBI agents (played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany) as they use new techniques to profile serial killers and crack the psychology behind disturbing murders.

Fincher’s visual stylings and palette is clearly on display in this promising new series, which will have episodes directed by Fincher, Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror) and Asif Kapadia (Senna, Amy). We can’t wait.

All 10 episodes of Mindhunter, which also stars Anna Torv and Hannah Gross, will be hitting Netflix on October 13.
