Hulu has unveiled the trailer for M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing), an upcoming stop-motion animated series that places the spotlight on a crazy Marvel villain who’s essentially a head in a hover chair.
Patton Oswalt co-created the series and voices the lead character, a megalomaniacal supervillain who has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But things aren’t going well. He’s run his evil organisation, A.I.M., into the ground through years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth’s mightiest heroes. Adding to his mid-life crisis: He’s also dealing with a marriage and family life that’s falling apart.
The voice cast includes Aimee Garcia as M.O.D.O.K.’s wife; Ben Schwartz as M.O.D.O.K.’s socially awkward 12-year-old son; Melissa Fumero as M.O.D.O.K.’s popular 17-year-old daughter; Wendi McLendon-Covey as M.O.D.O.K.’s workplace arch-nemesis; Beck Bennett as M.O.D.O.K.’s new boss – in his twenties; Jon Daly as a robot who has high ambitions as an artist and hates being enslaved as M.O.D.O.K; and Sam Richardson as M.O.D.O.K.’s always-optimistic and loyal henchman.
The Date Announcement trailer below doesn’t show off too much, but it does nail the fact that M.O.D.O.K. will be appropriately bonkers and, yeah, not really for the little ones. Count us in!
All 10 episodes of M.O.D.O.K., which also has mong its voice cast, will be hitting Hulu in U.S. on May 21st. No official word where and when it will land in Australia, although it’s likely heading to Binge. We’ll let you know when we do.
