Morena Baccarin, known for playing Anna in V and Jessica Brody in Homeland, is to play the lead female character in Deadpool.
THR reports that Baccarin beat out quite a few actresses for the part, which will see her playing a character who “grapples with falling for a man with a hideously scarred face.”
Ryan Reynolds will reprise the lead role in the picture, which is being directed by visual effects supervisor Tim Miller (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).
T.J. Miller (Cloverfield) and Gina Carano (Haywire) are co-starring.
Rhett Reese (Monsters, Inc., Zombieland) and Paul Wernick (Zombieland) have penned the screenplay for the film, which will be hitting the U.S on February 12, 2016.
