The first teaser trailer has dropped for Morgan, a very intriguing upcoming thriller starring Kate Mara.
Mara plays a corporate troubleshooter sent to a secret location to investigate an accident. Scientists have crafted what at first appears to be an innocent “human,” but what is eventually uncovered to be quite the dangerous life form.
The film is directed by Luke Scott, son of Ridley (who’s on board as producer), and it looks like it could be fantastic. Or at the very least, this is a fantastic teaser, giving us just enough enticing footage to understand that, once again, science has crafted something deadly.
Although the film’s official synopsis (beneath the trailer) is kept decidedly vague, EW has the following info:
The title character, played by Anya Taylor-Joy of The Witch, looks like a normal human but is rapidly evolving — perhaps beyond known boundaries. Within a month, she was walking and talking; within six months, she was completely self-sufficient.
Sounds great, and we’re excited that Taylor-Joy, who was seriously fantastic in The Witch, is playing the titular character.

Morgan, also starring Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Giamatti, will hit U.S. cinemas on September 2.
