Apple TV+ has dropped the official trailer for Morning Wars (as it’s titled in Australia; known as The Morning Show in most other countries, including the U.S.) season 4. Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Jon Hamm, and Marion Cotillard headline the returning and expanded ensemble, as the Emmy-winning newsroom drama gears up for another explosive chapter. If the new footage is any indication, Alex Levy’s rise to the top is about to come with some serious strings attached.

More on Screen Realm:
A reset with higher stakes
The trailer makes clear that season 4 is another hard reset after the fireworks of the previous finale. Alex (Aniston) is now sitting at the head of UBN — the freshly merged UBA-NBN network — thanks to her bold coup in season 3. But while Alex promises a new culture and a new direction, a magazine headline cuts straight to the heart of her precarious position: “New Paradigm or Glass Cliff?”
Cotillard’s newcomer Celine Dumont wastes no time poking holes in Alex’s vision, dryly quipping, “Nice idea. But it’s not sexy.” Meanwhile, Boyd Holbrook steps in as a podcaster who both clashes with and charms Alex, complicating her already volatile world.
Bradley’s return and unfinished business
A big reveal: Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson is not behind bars. After handing herself over to the FBI in the season 3 cliffhanger — tied to her brother’s role in the January 6 cover-up — Bradley resurfaces in the trailer, back at the desk and chasing another explosive story. This time she’s digging into a dangerous UBA cover-up with the help of Chip (Mark Duplass), all while juggling a rekindled connection with Cory (Crudup).
The trailer teases FBI raids, betrayals, and Alex herself warning Bradley that someone may be setting her up. As Alex bluntly puts it: “You can’t clean a house if you’re about to blow it up.”
Cast and creative team
Aniston and Witherspoon are joined by Crudup, Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Nicole Beharie, and Hamm, with new faces Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper (as UBA’s new Head of Sports), Holbrook, Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons, who plays Alex’s father.
Behind the camera, Charlotte Stoudt returns as showrunner and executive producer alongside director Mimi Leder, Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Aniston, Kristin Hahn, Zander Lehmann, and Micah Schraft.
Release date
Morning Wars (aka The Morning Show) season 4 premieres September 17 on Apple TV+ with its first episode, followed by new episodes every Friday through November 19.
