Netflix has unveiled a big trailer for Narcos, the fantastic series that tells of the real-life war against notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar.

The second season finds our two agents, Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal), deep in the ever-escalating conflict between the various parties after Escobar (Wagner Moura) and the kingpin’s many comrades. Everything well and truly hit the fan towards the end of last season, and as the trailer below shows, both sides are in for severe punishment.

Moura’s performance in season 1 was downright incredible, and was made all the more impressive when you consider that the Portuguese actor had to learn Spanish for the role.

Narcos season 2 will be hitting Netflix on September 2 (U.S. date).

Narcos chronicles the gripping real-life stories of the infamous drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. Its gritty storytelling details the many, often-conflicting forces – legal, political, police, military and civilian – that clash in the effort to control cocaine, one of the world’s most valuable commodities.
