Hell yes. 20th Century Fox has dropped a great new trailer for Alien: Covenant, giving us plenty of new footage to drool and headbutt screens over.

Ridley Scott’s follow-up to Prometheus follows the crew of the Covenant, the first-ever large scale colonisation mission. They’ve found a promising new planet, but yeah… they’re going to wish they’d stayed on earth.

Horror looks to be taking a priority here, with panic-stricken faces, corpses, corridors, face-huggers and xenomorphs all making very, very welcome appearances. Could this be the Alien film we’ve been waiting for since James Cameron’s ’86 sequel? Fingers crossed.

Alien: Covenant, starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir and Carmen Ejogo, among others, will arrive in Australia on May 18 and opens in the US on May 19.

Official synopsis for Alien: Covenant:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
