The upcoming Ben-Hur remake has received an action-packed new trailer.
Starring Jack Huston in the lead role, the film tells of a man who is falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother, Messala (Toby Kebbell), and forced into slavery. Years later, with the help of Ilderim (Morgan Freeman), Ben-Hur returns home for vengeance and, ultimately, redemption.
It’s hard to say whether this new iteration of the classic tale will knock it out of the park, but the action does look like it could warrant a look on the big screen. Huston’s a strong actor who hasn’t really had a chance to show off his skills in a big role. Fingers crossed this epic nails it for him and everyone else involved.
Ben-Hur, directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Wanted, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), will hit the U.S. on August 18 and arrives in Australia on August 25.
