A new trailer has dropped for Daddy’s Home 2, the upcoming Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg sequel that adds John Lithgow and Mel Gibson to the mix.
The sequel to the 2015 comedy, which grossed $US242.7 million worldwide, finds father Brad (Ferrell) and stepfather Dusty (Wahlberg) in for a chaotic holiday season when their dads (Gibson, Lithgow) decide to drop around for Christmas.
More footage is on offer in the new trailer, including more of Gibson’s tough-guy grandad. It’s good to see the Oscar winner back in films, and tackling a broad family comedy is a bit of a change of pace for him lately too. Fingers crossed returning director/co-writer Sean Anders (We’re the Millers) and scribe John Morris bring the comedic best out of this great cast.
There are a few parent-focused comedies on the way. Fathers have another spotlight in the Owen Wilson and Ed Helms comedy Father Figures (previously known as Bastards) and mothers have the upcoming sequel A Bad Moms Christmas.
Daddy’s Home 2, also starring Linda Cardellini, John Cena, and Alessandra Ambrosio, opens in the U.S. on November 10 and arrives in Australia on November 23.
