BBC America

Get ready for a new Orphan Black series!

No, it’s not a reboot or a spinoff, but rather a new series with an all-new story that will be set in the same world of the show that ran for 5 seasons from 2013 until 2017.

Variety broke the news, reporting that the project has been set up at AMC. The company has now entered the early development stages of a new story in the “Orphan Black” universe. Producers are currently on the search of a series writer and are in the process of gathering pitches.

It’s a new home from the expanding franchise, which had its original series set up at BBC America, where it aired in the US. Original production company Temple Street Productions is again on board.

Tatiana Maslany was nominated for a Golden Globe and took home a Primetime Emmy for her role/s in the series, which told of a streetwise hustler whose world is turned upside down when she witnesses the suicide of a girl who looks just like her. She soon discovers a wide-reaching conspiracy and plot involving her clones.
