We have a little bit to go on regarding the next film to come from standout filmmaker Christopher Nolan.

According to a tweet by Production Weekly, Nolan will be reuniting with Oscar-nominated Interstellar and Dunkirk director of photography Hoyte van Hoytema on a “romantic thriller” that’s been described as “North by Northwest in tone meets Inception.”

It’s a vague yet highly enticing description. North by Northwest is a bit lighter in tone from the darker films delivered by maestro Alfred Hitchcock. The film starred Cary Grant as a New York City advertising executive who goes on the run after being mistaken for a government agent by a group of foreign spies. Inception, of course, is Nolan’s mind-bending sci-fi thriller that had Leonardo DiCaprio implanting an idea into the mind of a CEO using dream-sharing technology.
We’ll see what unfolds here. Nolan’s films have almost become events, and we’re oh-so pumped at what he could deliver with something described as a romantic thriller in the vein of two fantastic classics.
