‘Next in Fashion’ Cancelled at Netflix

Competition series Next in Fashion has been cancelled by streaming giant Netflix.

The fashion competition reality show will not be getting a second season. Co-host Tan France, who is also known as one of the Queer Eye team members, confirmed the news to Variety.

“It was honestly one of the proudest things I’ve ever worked on,” France said. “I love the show and [co-host] Alexa [Chung] so much. My focus is definitely on Queer Eye and moving forward with that.”

France did also say, “we don’t know what will happen in the future,” so perhaps there’s a glimmer of hope that the show could be picked up at another service or channel. You never know.

Landing at Netflix on January 26th, Next in Fashion saw eighteen fashion designers compete for a $250,000 grand prize and the opportunity to launch a clothing line with Italian online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter. Season 1 spoiler alert: The first and now only season was won by South Korean designer Minju Kim.

France can be seen in Queer Eye season 5, which dropped on Netflix on June 5th.
