New Faces, Fresh Trouble
Leighton Meester – Brody’s real-life spouse – joins the cast as Abby, Joanne’s middle-school nemesis turned Instagram mum influence. Also on deck: Miles Fowler as Lenny (Noah’s Matzah Ballers teammate, set up with Morgan), Alex Karpovsky as “Big Noah” (an overly confident rabbi at Noah’s temple), and Arian Moayed as Dr Andy, a high-status therapist who might be an unexpectedly good fit for Morgan. Creator & Cast on the Shift
Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, creator Erin Foster lays out the Season 2 terrain: “It’s such an interesting part of every relationship when you now have to see if you can make it work with each other’s friends, day-to-day routines, and how you handle the milestones that come in those first few months together from holidays, birthdays, and what you each think the future should look like.”
Adam Brody’s read on Noah’s big Season 1 gesture still frames the stakes: “I put you first. Everything else will work itself out, but I’m saying that you are my priority.” Then he adds the caveat season 2 will probe: “In the light of day, will he still feel that way? I don’t know… It’s an open question.”
Behind the Scenes
Erin Foster returns as creator, with Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan stepping in as showrunners and executive producers, alongside executive producer Nora Silver. Konner says, “Erin is the rare creator with a crystal clear voice and a genuinely collaborative spirit. I am a true fan of Erin’s show and also feel so lucky to be back in a room with two of my favourites, Bruce Kaplan and Sarah Heyward from Girls.” Foster, reflecting on the response so far: “Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me.”
