Take a look at the trailer for November Criminals, an upcoming crime-drama reuniting Ansel Elgort and Chloë Grace Moretz (they previously worked together on the Carrie remake).
Based on the novel by Sam Munson, November Criminals finds Elgort playing Addison Schacht, a high school student who takes it upon himself to uncover the truth of his friend’s murder when everyone seems to want to put it down to a gang-related killing.
The film is directed and co-written by Sacha Gervasi, known for the acclaimed documentary Anvil: The Anvil Story and the Anthony Hopkins-starring biopic Hitchcock. Oscar-nominated scribe Steven Knight, known for Eastern Promises, Taboo and Peaky Blinders, co-wrote the script.
It seems like a serviceable enough Y.A. drama, with a narrative that could allow for some layered tension – dealing with friendship, race, justice, etc. We’ll see. Check out the trailer and head to the comments section below to let us know what you think.
November Criminals, also staring David Strathairn and Catherine Keener, will be available on Digital on November 11 and opens in limited US cinemas on December 8.
