Nine character posters have been released for Now You See Me 2, Lionsgate’s upcoming sequel to the successful 2013 crime-adventure.
The first film may not have aced it with the critics, but it managed to top $351 million in worldwide box office receipts, thus leading the way to a follow-up.
The Four Horsemen resurface for a comeback in the sequel, which sees them aiming to expose the unethical practices of a tech magnate. When Walter Mabry (Daniel Radcliffe), a tech prodigy, threatens them into pulling off their most impossible heist yet, their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.
As shown in the oh-so-blue posters below, most of the cast is back, with the exception of Isla Fisher and Mélanie Laurent and with the addition of Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan and Jay Chou.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M Chu takes the helm, directing from a screenplay by Now You See Me co-writer Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Charlie’s Angels) and Pete Chiarelli (The Proposal).
Now You See Me 2, also starring Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, opens in Australia on June 9 and in the U.S. on June 10.
