‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ Trailer: Jesse Eisenberg & Isla Fisher Lead New Magic Heist With Fresh Faces

Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the third entry in the high-stakes illusionist-heist franchise that kicked off in 2013. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher are back as the trickster team once known as the Four Horsemen – now seemingly retired, until a new heist lures them back into the game. Fisher returns to the franchise after sitting out the 2016 sequel. Watch the trailer above and get more info below.

This time, the crew joins forces with a younger generation of magic-makers – played by Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers), Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu), and Ariana Greenblatt (65) – all brought together by Eisenberg’s Danny Atlas to pull off a trick “bigger and better than anything you’ve ever seen.” Their target this time: A priceless heart-shaped diamond tied to a corrupt, ultra-wealthy family led by Rosamund Pike’s mysterious and likely dangerous new antagonist.

The trailer teases plenty of sleight-of-hand spectacle and cinematic illusions, in classic Now You See Me fashion – from holographic performances to reality-bending stunts and intercut deception. The film also has Morgan Freeman, back as Thaddeus Bradley, although no appearance from Mark Ruffalo’s FBI agent Dylan Rhodes, who was last seen as the secret mastermind behind the Eye.

The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer, whose credits include Zombieland, Venom, and Uncharted. Four writers for this one, according to the film’s IMDb page: Seth Grahame-Smith (The Lego Batman Movie), Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Eric Warren Singer (Top Gun: Maverick), and Gavin James (A Minecraft Movie).

It’s surprising that it’s taken almost ten years for a third chapter in the franchise, considering the healthy box office returns seen with the first two films. 2013’s Now You See Me topped $US351 million worldwide from a budget of $US75 million. The 2016 sequel, Now You See Me 2, earned $US334 million from a budget of $US90 million.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t will be unveiled in U.S. cinemas on November 14.
