One of the year’s best films, Gravity has taken the world’s box-office by storm. It has currently earned around $516 million in world-wide box-office receipts, with that number expected to rise. Now there’s more of Gravity to enjoy, with this fantastic companion piece entitled Aningaaq.
The short film, written and directed by Jonás Cuarón (son of director Alfonso and co-writer of Gravity), beautifully ties in with a key emotional moment from the film. It’s a simple, yet wonderfully made 7-minute short. Warner Bros. has decided to submit Aningaaq for Oscar consideration in the Best Short Film category after the positive response from film festivals. No doubt Gravity will be up for some major gongs come next year’s award ceremony.
We suggest not watching it if you haven’t already seen the film.
