Bruce Willis gets his John Wick / Keanu on when bad guys steal his dog in Once Upon a Time in Venice, an upcoming action-comedy also starring John Goodman and Jason Momoa.
The film finds Willis playing a P.I. whose professional and personal worlds collide when a gang steals his dog, Buddy. Gang leader Spider (Momoa) has a proposition: Find the girl who stole a suitcase full of cocaine and he’ll give the dog back.
Willis has been churning out crappy film after crappy film of late, happy to get those easy pay cheques for dull straight-to-home-release pics. Well, while this doesn’t exactly look like a return to form, it could be a good bit of fun. It looks lively, and Momoa will probably walk away with every scene. But geez, talk about a poor trailer. Check out the film’s awkward, badly edited marketing piece below.
Once Upon a Time in Venice, also starring Famke Janssen, Stephanie Sigman, Thomas Middleditch and Kal Penn, hits VOD on June 16.

A series of crazy circumstances find him doing the gang’s bidding, while being chased by two vengeful Samoan brothers, a loan shark’s goons, and a few other shady characters. They say a dog is a man’s best friend, and Steve shows how far a man will go to be reunited with him.
