‘One Piece’ Season 2 Gets First-Look Trailer as Netflix Orders Season 3

The Straw Hats are going nowhere but forward. During the annual ONE PIECE Day celebration in Tokyo, Netflix revealed the above first-look trailer for One Piece season 2 — now officially subtitled Into the Grand Line — and confirmed the live-action pirate adventure has already been renewed for a third season.

The new footage teases the next leg of Monkey D. Luffy’s (IƱaki Godoy) journey, with the crew’s sights set on the legendary Grand Line and a collision course with the secretive Baroque Works organisation.

The trailer shows the towering giant Brogy (Brendan Murray) looming over Robin, a glimpse of Vivi — also known as Miss Wednesday — played by Charithra Chandran, and Lera Abova’s Miss All Sunday using her Hana Hana no Mi devil fruit powers. Curiously, the footage leaves out any sign of Drum Island or fan-favourite reindeer-boy hybrid Tony Tony Chopper, who will be voiced and performance-captured by Mikaela Hoover.

New faces, new threats

Season 2 will see the Straw Hats — Luffy, Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) — navigating bizarre islands and running into formidable new enemies. Among them: Baroque Works leader Mr. 0/Sir Crocodile, played by Joe Manganiello; Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek; David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3; and Sendhil Ramamurthy as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta. Katey Sagal will join as Dr. Kureha.

According to the official synopsis, the second season will unleash ā€œfiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yetā€ as the crew ventures deeper into ā€œa legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn.ā€

Behind the scenes and beyond season 2

Netflix has announced that production season 3 will begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa, with Ian Stokes — a co-executive producer on season 1 — joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Tracz is currently co-showrunning season 2 alongside Matt Owens, though Owens has confirmed he’ll depart the series after this chapter wraps.

The live-action One Piece is produced in partnership with Shueisha and Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) for Netflix, with series creator Eiichiro Oda among the executive producers.

One Piece: Into the Grand Line will arrive in 2026.
