New ‘Onward’ Trailer Unveils Disney-Pixar’s Chris Pratt & Tom Holland-Voiced Fantasy Adventure

Disney/Pixar

The full-length official trailer has been released for Onward, the upcoming CG-animated adventure featuring voice work from MCU stars Chris Pratt and Tom Holland.

All that was known of the plot until now was that it would follow “two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.” Well, it’s much clearer now. Pratt and Holland voice two elf brothers who are handed a wizard’s staff their late father – who the younger brother never really met – intended to leave them when they both were over 16. Oh, and they head on the road with their father’s legs.

If it’s Disney•Pixar, confidence is provided. It’s that simple. This looks like a colourful, energetic outing that should be fun. And you just know that father story is probably going to pack an emotional wallop.

Onward will hit US cinemas on March 6 and arrives in Australia April 2, 2020.

Official synopsis for Onward:

Set in a suburban fantasy world, “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot (voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt), who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. Also featuring the voice of Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Ian and Barley’s mom, Laurel Lightfoot, and Octavia Spencer as the voice of the Manticore, Pixar Animation Studios’ all-new original feature film is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae—the team behind “Monsters University.” Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” opens in cinemas on April 2, 2020.
