Randall Park and Timothy Simons (who have previously worked together on HBO’s white-house comedy Veep) have signed onto Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s upcoming comedy The Interview. The film is the latest from the Rogen / Goldberg team, with past entries including Superbad, Pineapple Express and this year’s hit This is the End.
The film will star James Franco as a handsome talk show host and Seth Rogan as his producer. The two will find themselves out of their depth when they become involved in a conspiracy to assassinate the North Korean Prime Minister. Lizzy Caplan also stars.
Simons, best known for his aforementioned work on Veep, will be playing the talk-show’s director, while Park is cast as the Korean leader marked for death.
The Interview will commence shooting this week in Vancouver.
