Kristen Stewart is haunted by the ghost of her deceased twin brother. Or is she?
IFC Films has unveiled a new trailer for Personal Shopper, a supernatural thriller-drama that earned director Olivier Assayas a best director win at last year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The film sees Stewart playing Maureen, a young woman who works as a personal shopper for the rich and famous. Things begin spiralling when she believes the ghost of her twin brother is attempting to make contact. Is this ghost real, is this just her way of dealing with grief, or is she simply losing it altogether?
The reviews out of Cannes were mixed, ranging from perfect-score acclaim to unimpressed, disappointed reactions. It’s an intriguing trailer, teasing the mystery and giving us a bit of Stewart’s reportedly impressive performance.
The film reunites Stewart with director Assayas, who directed her to a Best Actress win at the César Awards (French equivalent of the Oscars) with Clouds of Sils Maria.
Personal Shopper, also starring Lars Eidinger and Sigrid Bouaziz, opens in US cinemas on March 10.
