A dark little red band teaser trailer has arrived for Possessor, the intriguing and disturbing-looking second feature from writer-director Brandon Cronenberg (Antiviral).

The horror sci-fi film stars Andrea Riseborough as corporate assassin Tasya Vos, who uses brain-implant tech to control other people’s bodies to execute targets. Her latest assignment gets complicated when she becomes trapped inside the mind of Colin Tate, played by the always-reliable Christopher Abbott (It Comes at Night, The Sinner).

No surprise that Brandon is the son of renowned filmmaker David Cronenberg, whose career was formed with unsettling body-horror films such as Scanners, The Fly and Videodrome, among others. Possesser, from the quick and striking NSFW teaser below, looks to be offering up a good amount of squirm-inducing imagery and mind-bending ideas. It most certainly won’t be for all tastes – can’t wait.

Rossif Sutherland, Tuppence Middleton, Sean Bean and Jennifer Jason Leigh also star. No release date has been announced as yet.

Official synopsis for Possessor:

From the visionary mind of writer/director Brandon Cronenberg, POSSESSOR is an arresting sci-fi thriller about elite, corporate assassin Tasya Vos. Using brain-implant technology, Vos takes control of other people’s bodies to execute high profile targets. As she sinks deeper into her latest assignment Vos becomes trapped inside a mind that threatens to obliterate her.
