The Predator universe just made one of its biggest moves yet — and it didn’t come in a new live-action film. A revised epilogue for the animated feature Predator: Killer of Killers has been unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, revealing a game-changing new ending that brings back two of the franchise’s most iconic characters.
Killer of Killers previously ended with a surprise reveal that Amber Midthunder’s Naru — the lead character from Prey — had been captured by the Yautja and placed in suspended animation aboard one of their ships. But this new version goes further. The updated epilogue shows the camera continue across the chamber, revealing not just Naru, but also Predator’s Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Predator 2’s Mike Harrigan (Danny Glover), both alive and preserved in cryo pods.

Alive — and Taken: What the Ending Means for Dutch and Harrigan
The new scene doesn’t retcon the original films, but it does add a huge new development. In Predator (1987), Schwarzenegger’s Dutch survives the alien showdown and is rescued by helicopter the next morning. Predator 2 ends with Glover’s Harrigan surviving a battle in Los Angeles, awarded a flintlock pistol by a Predator Elder as a sign of honour. At no point are either of them shown being captured, making this new scene a major revelation that recontextualises their fates.
Rather than simply going off the grid or dying offscreen, both men were apparently captured at some point after their respective encounters. And now, they join Naru as part of a mysterious Yautja collection. It’s a chilling prospect, and one that opens up fresh narrative possibilities.
Schwarzenegger Signed Off — and More Could Be Coming
Killer of Killers and Predator: Badlands director Dan Trachtenberg revealed at Comic-Con that Arnold Schwarzenegger personally approved Dutch’s animated appearance after a private breakfast meeting. While Trachtenberg wouldn’t confirm what’s next, he did tease: “We can now continue to cook up things that may be in store for that guy.”
While Glover’s Harrigan also appears in the ending, it’s not clear yet whether the actor was directly involved or whether further use of the character is planned.
Killer of Killers – with its new ending – is currently streaming on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in international territories, including Australia.

What About the Other Appearances?
While this ending now appears to be the official continuation of Dutch and Harrigan’s stories, fans have seen both characters return in other media over the years. That being said, much of it sits in murky canon territory.
Dutch, in particular, has had an extensive history beyond the original film. In the Predator: Hunting Grounds video game, Dutch (voiced by Schwarzenegger) is shown continuing his Yautja-hunting mission well into old age, even undergoing Predator-DNA treatment to stay in the fight. He’s also popped up in comics, novels, and the Alien vs. Predator arcade game, where he’s resurrected centuries later as a cybernetic marine.
Harrigan’s post-Predator 2 life has been less detailed, but he does appear in the short story Drug War from the anthology Predator: If It Bleeds. This story saw him in Rio de Janeiro in 2022, caught in another Predator hunt while working as a gang violence advisor.
Whether any of these extended universe stories still “count” is unclear, especially with the franchise leaning toward a more unified, streamlined mythology across Prey, Badlands, and now Killer of Killers.
Legacy Characters, New Purpose
With this new ending, Killer of Killers bridges old and new corners of the franchise, offering a kind of narrative glue between the ’80s and ’90s entries and the recent Prey. It doesn’t just bring legacy characters back for nostalgia’s sake; it puts them in a position to be part of the future.
Whether this leads to an animated follow-up, a Prey sequel, or even a new live-action crossover, the Yautja now have more than trophies — they have unfinished business.
As do Dutch and Harrigan…
