It certainly looks like Suicide Squad is rolling along nicely.
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s upcoming feature has been locked in to film in Pinewood Toronto Studios, according to THR. Pre-production on the film is reportedly set to begin in February 2015.
While there still hasn’t been any solid word on who will star in the picture, Jai Courtney, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are said to be in the final stages of negotiations.
Will Smith is also rumoured to be in talks, with early reports suggesting that he’ll be playing Captain Boomerang.
Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor may also be in Suicide Squad, which would work as a sequel of sorts after Luthor’s turn in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer (End of Watch, Fury), is set to hit the U.S. on August 5, 2016.
