‘Rambo: Last Blood’ Trailer Has Sylvester Stallone Bringing the Pain One Last Time

Lionsgate

John Rambo is back in what is being called the franchise’s final chapter, Rambo: Last Blood.

Sylvester Stallone reprises the role in the action franchise’s latest entry – the fifth since it all began with First Blood back in 1982. After piling up the bodies in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Burma, Rambo’s final mission of revenge looks to find him on his own ground, laying waste to baddies on his farm property.

The film series began in small, more melodramatic-thriller territory with First Blood, before taking a turn and becoming a gleefully violent slaughterfest over the next few films. Let’s hope we can hit a nice balance of the two styles for Rambo’s last outing. Last outing… probably until they reboot it with a younger actor in the future.

This marks the directorial debut of Adrian Grunberg, a longtime assistant and second unit director whose credits include Apocalypto and Man on Fire. Stallone wrote the screenplay with Matthew Cirulnick, co-creator of Amazon Prime series Absentia.

Rambo: Last Blood, also starring Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim aka Yenah Han, Joaquin Cosio, and Oscar Jaenada, will be arriving in Australia on September 19 and opening in the US on September 20.
