Final ‘Ratched’ Trailer: Sarah Paulson is Not the Nurse You Want in Dark and Stylish Netflix Series

A big final trailer has arrived for Netflix‘s promising new series, Ratched, led by Sarah Paulson and co-created by TV hit-maker Ryan Murphy (American Horror StoryGleeThe Politician).

The series has Paulson playing tyrannical nurse Mildred Ratched, who we met making Jack Nicholson’s life hell in the 1975 Best Picture winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Louise Fletcher played her there). The series serves as Mildred’s origin story, going back to 1947 and following her as she arrives at a psychiatric hospital during a time when new and unsettling experiments are being practiced. These procedures are disturbing… and so is she.

It’s another great trailer (you can check out the first trailer HERE) for what could be quite the show. It looks ultra-stylish and very dark, with a great cast led by the reliable Paulson – who can play unhinged in her sleep at this point. Looking forward to checking it out.

Ratched, also starring Cynthia Nixon, Judy Davis, Sharon Stone, Corey Stoll, Finn Wittrock, and Vincent D’Onofrio, among others, will be streaming on Netflix from September 18th.

Official synopsis for Ratched:

From Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, RATCHED is a suspenseful drama series that tells the origin story of asylum nurse Mildred Ratched. In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels are always turning and as she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, Mildred’s stylish exterior belies a growing darkness that has long been smoldering within, revealing that true monsters are made, not born.
