‘Reacher’ Season 4: Book and Plot Confirmed, New Cast Revealed as Filming Begins

Prime Video has officially pulled back the curtain on Reacher season 4, revealing new casting announcements and confirming that the upcoming season will adapt Gone Tomorrow, the thirteenth novel in Lee Child’s best-selling Jack Reacher book series.

‘Gone Tomorrow’ Sets the Stage for Season 4

Season 4 finds Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) once again caught up in dangerous territory after a chance encounter pulls him into a deadly conspiracy. According to Amazon’s official description: “When a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a train goes horribly wrong, Jack Reacher is drawn into a complex and deadly game that pits him against ruthless foes from the highest echelons of power.”

The novel’s own synopsis offers an even more enticing tease of what the series will be adapting. As per publisher Penguin Books:” Suicide bombers are easy to spot. They give out all kinds of tell-tale signs. There are twelve things to look for. No one who has worked in law enforcement will ever forget them. New York City. The subway, two o’clock in the morning. Jack Reacher studies his fellow passengers. Four are OK. The fifth isn’t. The train brakes for Grand Central Station. Will Reacher intervene, and save lives? Or is he wrong? Will his intervention cost lives – including his own?”

New Cast Members Join Alan Ritchson

Ritchson returns in the tailor-made role that is Jack Reacher, leading a cast that now includes several new additions:

  • Jay Baruchel (This Is the End, BlackBerry) as Jacob Merrick, a small-town police officer.
  • Sydelle Noel (GLOW, Black Panther) as Tamara Green, a detective with the Philadelphia police department.
  • Agnez Mo (Pernikahan Dini, The Hospital) as Lila Hoth, a young Indonesian woman searching for her American father.
  • Anggun (Cannes Confidential) as Amisha Hoth, Lila’s mother.

Fans of the books may spot that some character names have been slightly altered for the series, with names like Merrick, Tamara, and Elsbeth tweaked for the adaptation.

‘Reacher’ Remains a Prime Video Powerhouse

Since its debut in 2022, Reacher has quickly become one of Prime Video’s most successful series. Season 3, which premiered in early 2025, became the platform’s most-watched returning series ever. Amazon had already renewed the show for season 4 back in October 2024, months before season 3 even debuted.

The series is developed by showrunner Nick Santora, who executive produces alongside Lee Child, Alan Ritchson, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, Lisa Kussner, Sam Hill, Amy Pocha, Seth Cohen, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid serve as executives-in-charge for Skydance Television.

Spinoff Series ‘Neagley’ Also on the Way

Prime Video

The Reacher universe is also expanding with Neagley, a spinoff series focused on fan-favourite character Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten. Announced in 2024, the series follows Neagley as she investigates the suspicious death of an old friend, using everything she learned from her time working with Reacher and the 110th Special Investigators. Neagley is currently in post-production and is expected to arrive on Prime Video in 2026.

No Release Date Yet for Season 4

Filming for season 4 is set to begin this week, though Amazon has not yet announced a premiere date. In the meantime, the first three seasons of Reacher are streaming now on Prime Video.
