‘Reacher’ Spinoff Series Officially Going Ahead at Prime Video

The Reacher universe is officially set to expand. Prime Video has announced a spinoff series set to focus on Frances Neagley, the character played by Maria Sten.

The series will follow Neagley as she investigates the suspicious death of a close friend from her past. Using the skills she learned during her time working alongside Jack Reacher and with the 110th Special Investigators, Neagley sets off on a dangerous mission to uncover the truth and bring justice to those responsible.

Sten expressed her excitement about delving deeper into her character, saying, “I’m beyond thrilled to further explore the world of Neagley and her somewhat mysterious background. She’s such a wonderful character to play and I’m very excited for everyone to get to know her a little better.”

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, added, “As Reacher continues to resonate with our global customers in a profound way, expanding on the storytelling and characters with a spinoff was an easy decision.” He highlighted that the creative team behind the show would honour the Reacher legacy while bringing something fresh for both new and returning fans.

Nick Santora (Reacher, Prison Break) and Nicholas Wootton (Law & Order, Prison Break) will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers, with Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, and CBS Studios producing the series. Santora praised Sten’s portrayal of Neagley, stating, “Lee Child created an immensely rich character with Neagley, and Maria Sten brought her to life in such a vivid, authentic way in Reacher.”

The setup for the spinoff could come during Reacher‘s upcoming third season. While the next season is based on Lee Child’s novel Persuader, which doesn’t feature Frances Neagley in the original story, it has been confirmed that Neagley will indeed make an appearance. This upcoming season will see Jack Reacher (played by Alan Ritchson) going undercover to rescue an informant held captive by a dangerous enemy from his past.
