Roadshow Films has released the first teaser trailer for Red Dog: True Blue, the follow-up to the 2011 canine-focused hit.
The new film tells of Mick (Levi Miller), an 11-year-old who is sent to live at his grandfather’s (Bryan Brown) Western Australian cattle station. Mick is expecting a dull life in the remote region, until he meets a one-of-a-kind dog that will change his life forever.
Red Dog was a beautifully crafted film, a feel-good picture that doubled as a seriously touching tearjerker. It’s good to see that film’s creative team back for this second round, with director Kriv Stenders, producer Nelson Woss and writer Daniel Taplitz all returning in their respective roles.
The teaser below doesn’t offer too much in the way of footage or plot, but it does introduce us to the film’s war elements, young Mick, and of course our new canine star. Get the tissues ready, folks.
Red Dog: True Blue, also starring Jason Isaacs, Hanna Mangan Lawrence and Thomas Cocquerel, will be hitting Aussie screens on Boxing Day.
